A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to share parts of my fertility journey with Beth Forbus of Sarah’s Laughter for her faith-based infertility podcast. My episode just aired today!
This was my first time being interviewed about infertility, and it was so sweet to have a conversation with Beth and be able to share pieces of my story with all her listeners, which just aired today!
The full podcast can be found here.
In this episode I share an overview of what Andrew and I have been facing the past few years in our journey to grow our family. I talk about the challenges of being “young” in the infertility world and how I’ve had to combat misconceptions about infertility in my 20s. I also give all my best practical tips on picking a fertility doctor (I’ve had more than my fair-share of doctors over the years) and explain the process of embryo banking.
I also share about two experiences that have been significant in our journey- one is a moment of mourning about loving my embryos and the pain that came with losing them, the other is a story of celebration when I surprised my husband with our PGS results.
I recently wrote about the power of sharing our stories and how much a simple story can impact another individual who is walking a similar path. Our stories don’t have to wrap up neatly with a nice little bow on top- sometimes the beauty of our story is found in the midst of the messy chapters that don’t have an end in sight. I feel extremely blessed to have shared my story with the Sarah’s Laughter Listeners, and I pray that these words inspire hope and encouragement in all who hear it.
P.P.S. I recently launched a support group for small shop or business owners who are using the proceeds from their business to grow their family through infertility or adoption. If this sounds like you, please contact me for more information.
